My Family is what diversification means to me. I have divorced grandparents, a step-grandfather, a gay uncle, a black brother, two inter-racial nephews, and a partridge in a pear treeee.
They are what makes me diversified. They are my beautiful quirks and the colors in my somewhat beige existence. Without them i am quintessential, with them I am extraordinary.

I believe Wade Davis' goal of traveling to the most remote places on earth is to discover the quirks and colors that are apart of each of us. By highlighting different cultures and backgrounds, the world will seem less flat and more alive.

ReplyDeleteIt's cool to see how there's such diversity in your own family. I feel that you can look at Wade Davis' speech and apply it to many different microcosms within the world, and family, itself, carries the importance of diversity. I like how you realize that you are extraordinary as a result of their differences.
